Note: I have drawn some of this material from tip sheets that I published previously on my blog and for La Leche League Canada. Transgender men and women, and non-binary and genderqueer individuals, are physiologically capable of breast or chestfeeding, even if they have had previous chest surgery or have never given birth. It is equally important to note that some trans people experience severe gender dysphoria when breast or chestfeeding, and that they may decide not to nurse their babies for mental health reasons. Trans parents choosing to breast or chestfeed and those choosing to suppress lactation and bottlefeed may require the support of breastfeeding counselors or lactation professionals.

CIA report shows at least five detainees were subjected to the extreme medical practice, better knows as a nutrient enema. No need to squeeze the bag — let gravity do the work. At least three other detainees were threatened with rectal rehydration. Rectal feeding was once considered a legitimate medical procedure. But it is far less safe and efficient than intravenous and tube systems, and so it fell out of use in medical settings in the first half of the 20th century. CIA records showed at least one detainee , Mustafa al-Hawsawi, suffered from an anal fissure, chronic hemorrhoids and symptomatic rectal prolapse after a rectal infusion. Doctors have questioned the utility of rectal feeding for well over a century, and research performed in the late 19th and early 20th century found the practice had limited utility.

I never thought at the time to do more research on the subject but since have endeavored to learn more about the possibility. Male Lactation From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The phenomenon of male lactation in humans has become more common in recent years due to the use of medications that stimulate a human male's mammary glands. Though human males have nipples, it is not so often understood that they also have mammary glands.
